Paella - Friday 17th February

Well what can I say? Last week was a fab week. I have fully recovered from my illness and had a really good last week of term before our 2weeks holidays. I didn't have that many classes as some of the pupils were away on work placements and excursions.
Well my Friday started with a small Apero or small party in the staff room at the end of the day. We finished classes at 11.45 and we didn't leave until 1.30 from the school. It all started with a joke about me driving one of the teacher's cars, and then when we were leaving he handed me the keys and in I got and drove the car. It was ace to be back in the driving seat again. It was really easy after you got used to it, occasionally I smacked my hand against the door when I was looking for the gears. One of the teacher's was behind us (i was going to her house) and she said she was laughing because she drives fast but I was faster! Confidence eh!
Then in the evening we had a paella night, there were 12 of us who work in the Collège. It was a fantastic night. The pic above shows one of the plates of paella, of course as I don't like sea food I had only meat. It tasted very good. I drank a lot, well we all drank a lot. We played a drinking game, which is hard enough in English when you are drunk, but it's really difficult in French when you are drunk. We also played this other one about cows, every time you got the tongue twister wrong you got a mark. We eventually went to sleep at 5.15am, then i got woken up at 9am, no surprises not feeling so good at all. I got home around 12.30pm and went straight to sleep until 16hr. However, it was an excellent night out, everyone was in good spirits, I have loads of photos to remind me of the night!
So roll on the next 2 weeks of holidays. It's my flatmate's birthday on Friday so I am currently attempting to organise something, although she doesn't know it. With the help of some of the other teachers we will be able to do something. Other than that I am planning on finishing off my work for uni and visiting the region. Should be fun!
